Shopping Cancellation Policy

The Green Chair Project serves over 100 community agencies and operates with at least a two-week shopping wait time for customers. Frequent and last-minute cancellations cause delays in providing services to others. While we prioritize all our customers equally, please keep in mind that everyone’s need for home furnishings is different and your cancellation could mean a delay for a family whose need is greater than yours.

Customers may cancel shopping appointments 48 hours prior to scheduled shopping time with no penalty. If an appointment is cancelled less than 48 hours from scheduled appointment, the below penalties will apply:

  • 1st Cancellation: Reschedule to first available
  • 2nd Cancellation: Customer must wait two weeks before they may book to shop again
  • 3rd Cancellation: Customer must wait two weeks before they may book to shop again. Case manager must provide proof of customer need for furnishings. Customers will not be granted any additional cancellations and should seek a different furniture resource if cancelled again.

Delivery Cancellation Policy

Reliability is important to customers, partner agencies, and our dedicated vendors that delivery furniture on behalf of The Green Chair Project every day. Frequent and last-minute cancellations cause delays in providing services to others and damage the relationships we have with our current vendors, reducing the likelihood of future deliveries, and hurting all customers that rely on The Green Chair Project for steady and ongoing service delivery.

If you accept a delivery time and cancel more than 48 hours before the start time, you will not be charged a fee. If you cancel a delivery less than 48 hours before the delivery time, you will be subject to penalties listed below:

  • Cancelling between shopping and the day before delivery: $20 fee
  • Cancelling the day of delivery: $30 fee
  • If your furniture has already gone out for delivery and must be returned to our facility, you will be charged a return/re-delivery fee of $200.

Frequent delivery cancellations may result in you receiving a lower priority for future delivery bookings and eventual determination on no need of service. Fees must be paid prior to furniture re-delivery.

A customer is considered a no show if they are not at the delivery address at the delivery time. We will try to contact the customer and the delivery driver will wait up to 15 minutes before they leave. If your furniture must be returned to our facility, you will be charged a return/re-delivery fee of $200.
