The Green Chair Furnishes Home for Family Featured on Good Morning America
January 29, 2021
Good Morning America surprised hardworking teen brothers Jordin and Lavonte Adams and their family today with a home to be furnished by The Green Chair Project! Our staff were out in force joining Wake County and other partners to support the family facing the challenges of homelessness and unemployment due to COVID-19. The Adams’ have lived in a hotel for the past year and a half, with all seven family members in one room.
Later during an interview with ABC11’s Joel Brown, The Green Chair Project’s Executive Director Jackie Craig delivered the good news about the furnishings to the boys’ mother Mrs. Amber Lee. Mrs. Lee shared that she is most looking forward to “sitting down all together at a table and sharing a meal with my family. It has been years since we have been able to that.” We are grateful for the opportunity to bring her that table, along with beds for the family (each child gets their own through our Sweeter Dreams program) and all the other essential furnishings of home as they move into their new house next week.
