Dear Friends,

At The Green Chair Project, you’ve seen how a furnished home can spark hope — from a child’s first night in a warm bed to a family’s renewed sense of stability. As we celebrate fifteen years serving Wake County and the 32,000 lives you’ve helped transform, we’re thrilled to unveil our 2025–2027 Strategic Plan.

In collaboration with our families, partners, donors, volunteers, staff, and board, we’ve revised our mission, visions, and values to ensure we’re ready for what’s ahead:

  • Lead Change: Elevate our voice as an industry thought leader through compelling storytelling, strategic partnerships, and civic engagement
  • Impact Community: Invest in data-driven operations, professional development, and infrastructure upgrades to serve more families with excellence
  • Furnish Homes: Scale our core programs — Essentials for Home, Sweeter Dreams, and Shop for Good — to ensure every family “shops” with dignity and every child has a new bed of their own
  • Transform Lives: Diversify revenue streams, expand beyond Wake County, and build new donor relationships for long-term sustainability

Over the next three years, we aim to increase beds provided by 45% (to nearly 17,000), households served by 35% (to nearly 15,000), and raise the funds needed to increase our impact even further.

Your support made 1,734 beds and 1,144 homes possible in 2024 — but the need remains great. More than one in thirty Wake County children still lack a bed of their own. Today, we invite you to read the full plan, share it with your network, and rally new partners to help turn empty spaces into welcoming homes.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment. Together, we’ll continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families overcoming hardship — one household at a time.

With gratitude,

Rae Marie
